RULES

  1. Exhibits must have been grown by the exhibitor
  2. Exhibitor must be a member of Mold Gardening Club
  3. Exhibitors are limited to two entries per class
  4. All care will be taken of exhibits, but the show secretaries cannot be held responsible for any damage to exhibit
  5. Points will be awarded as follows:

1st Prize    3 points

2nd Prize   2 points

3rd Prize   1 point

  • The Judge has the right to withhold a prize and that decision shall be final in all matters
  • Maximum pot size shall be 10” (ten inches) diameter in all classes
  • All entries shall be arranged under the direction of the show secretaries

The Buchanan Cup will be awarded to the competitor who has gained the most points in the show

Schedule of Classes

Hyacinth

  1. One bowl of three – any colour
  2. Single hyacinth – any colour

Daffodil / Narcissi

  • One bowl of three – one colour or mixed
  • One bowl of five – one colour or mixed

Tulips

  • One bowl of three – one colour or mixed
  • One bowl of five – one colour or mixed

Other bulbs or corms

  • One bowl of any bulbs, corms, tubers etc.

 Hellebore

  • A single stem in a vase

Pot Plants

  • One pot plant flowering
  • One pot plant of any cactus or succulent
  • One foliage pot plant
  • Container of spring plants

Cut Flowers

  1. One vase of 3 tulips – one colour or mixed
  2. One vase of 3 daffodils/narcissi – single variety with own foliage
  3. One vase of five daffodils/narcissi – single variety with own foliage
  4. One vase of foliage and flowering stems of spring shrubs
  5. One vase containing a Camellia flower of any colour

Flower Arranging

  • A Springtime arrangement

Class 18 to be judged by members, no points will be awarded for this class, but prizes will be given

Photographic Prints competition

         19     Subject:                “My garden in Winter”

                      Judged by members with a prize for the                    winner

Rules for photo competition:

  • Colour or Black & White prints must be

6” x 4” and be mounted on white card

  • Two entries per person allowed
